How it works:
Free tour of the mill for new clients!
First-time clients:
Please prepare your fiber for processing by SKIRTING it before arrival at the mill ~ this step is NOT optional :-) if you have questions about skirting your fiber: research on the internet, watch a youtube video, or ask your local fiber community for guidance. Sunny Hill Fiber Mill reserves the right to turn away fiber based on its condition upon arrival at the mill.
Fill out the New Order Request form with information about you and your fiber. Sunny Hill Fiber Mill will follow up by email shortly after with instructions on how to schedule your appointment at the mill.
Schedule a drop-off consultation here at the mill where we will assess your fiber together, tour the mill, and create your customized Mill Plan. You’ll also receive log-in instructions so you can view the status of your fiber anytime, pay your invoices, etc. from our website.
Once you’ve paid your initial deposit invoice, your Mill Plan will be initiated and your fiber will be processed in the order in which it arrived at the mill. Sunny Hill Fiber Mill offers an option to “jump the line” called the Patron’s Reward which ensures THAT order will be the next one processed, significantly reducing the turnaround time on the order. Sunny Hill will notify you when your order has been completed and is ready to be returned to you. You have the choice between picking up your order in-person at the mill or having it shipped to you.
Returning Clients :
Welcome back! Use our website anytime to request a new processing order, track the status of an order, pay an invoice, etc.
Enjoy the option of either hand-delivering fiber processing orders to the mill in-person or mailing them according to your preference.

Regional Focus
Sunny Hill Fiber Mill requires first-time clients to hand-deliver their first fiber processing order in-person here at the mill. This helps us focus on the farmers and ranchers of the Southwest region in which we operate and allows us to feel and assess your fiber together to create your fiber’s customized Mill Plan.
Sunny Hill Fiber Mill honors our regional Native Peoples who, for generations, have shaped the fiber landscape of the southwest and who were unjustly taken off this Land by offering preferred pricing to members of our local tribes. Customizability
You want each animal’s fleece processed separately? Let’s do it. You want part of your order processed into yarn and others into felt based on the fiber’s varying qualities? Sounds perfect. Sunny Hill Fiber Mill houses enough machinery to offer fully customizable processing options that we will go through together when you drop your fiber off here at the mill. Not every fleece is suitable for processing through every machine, but we will create a Mill Plan that works best for your fiber and your fiber processing goals. Transparency
When you tour Sunny Hill Fiber Mill during your initial fiber drop-off consultation, you’ll learn the processes through which your fiber is going to be sent. Later, you can log-in anytime from our website to view the status of your order and check exactly where your fiber is in the mill. Fiber processing requires extensive time on the machines and many hours of manual labor, so we want to be as transparent about the process as possible and assure you that your fiber is always tracked and accounted for. Sunny Hill Fiber Mill does not currently accept orders for spinning fiber into yarn.
